Hello Sec 1s, Concert Band would be having an audition on 17 Jan (Wednesday) @ 4pm.

We are located on Level 4 AVA room,  hope to see you there !

Q: Do I need any playing experience or prepare any instruments beforehand?
A: No, you don't have to come with a music background. Concert Band will impart you new skills  from scratch.

Q: What will I be doing at the audition?
A: Relax! you'll be witnessing your seniors showcasing a few music pieces. Meanwhile try to spot the various instruments used in our band and perhaps note down the names of some! Also, our conductor will be having a friendly discussion with you as well as letting you know more of Band's commitment.
For more info, come to the audition, i promise it will be an interesting experience 😏😏

ps: Band Members are to be ready for showcase by 3.30pm.

Edgefield Secondary School 2017 Open House

18 November 2017 marks the day of our school's open house for primary 6 students and their parents.

To prepare for this prestigious event, we had a band rehearsal on the 17th.

Meanwhile, teachers had helped to set up our very own band booth.

Our own student conductor, Angel, is conducting us again ! Proud of her.

Thanks to those who had helped out at the Band booth !

And of course, to the many P6s and parents who attended ...

Concert Band had indeed put up a remarkable performance, well done to members !

Lastly, a big shoutout to parents who came along with their children to our booth. We had appreciated their interest and queries.

Will we be seeing some of those familiar faces again the coming year ? We certainly hope so !

Band Day Camp 2017

To kickstart the camp, we had bonding games followed by practice. Some seniors came back and joined us playing 'shut up and dance' piece.
This is the challenge trail activity where members were blindfolded and carefully guided by leaders around the school.

Through this activity, the qualities of Trust, Confidence and learning to respond in times of adversity were challenged.

This tunnel-crawling segment taught members the importance of listening to instructions and acting them out courageously in order to move on.

Seniors were there to ensure every participant's safety and enjoyment.

Branches were used as obstacles - our edegfield 'hills'.

Participants have to trust the person in front of them. If the front person turns left, the whole team would have to turn left as well.
We ended with a bonding session where band members were also asked to shout out what they have learnt today. Some excellent responses were integrity, team work and caring for one another.
Band Day Camp 2017 ended with our favourite snacks and sweets !
Thank you to all who played a part ! 😋
